Biggest Loser Couples: Playing the Game; Until It Plays You - Ranking The Remaining 9

This week on the Biggest Loser, Melissa tried to teach the remaining contestants how to Play the Game: Melissa Style.
They didn’t buy her act, and sent her back to Texas.
While it’s true this season of Losers have tried, for the most part, to make elimination choices based on “who needs to be there” or by the players’ spoken choices, few of them can claim to be as purely motivated as they think they are. When the elimination vote led most of them to make pious speeches about “what this house is all about”, many of them had no business acting like they were above gameplay.
Melissa was in a class by herself, when it comes to gameplay – but what about Michael. He may have said the Ranch had not been about gameplay and that he wasn’t going to start by playing the game, did he FORGET what he did when he formed the Blue and Black teams in a way designed to benefit himself?
And Koli’s memory of being a gameplay hater must be awfully short; he just finished (what seemed to be) unfairly badmouthing his own cousin’s girlfriend; last week.
In past seasons, of course there have been others who have played the game. Some – like Vicki and Tracey – have been very outspoken about it. Some – like the Ronfather – have been more subtle. But Melissa got under everyone’s skin with her loud protests at past weigh-ins, and with the way she brought their most selfish, but unspoken motives, at her elimination speech.
Even though Andrea has lost a SMALLER PERCENTAGE of weight than her – and, with her small result this week, has a good chance of losing a bigger number, next week (especially if the trainers FINALLY try to figure out why she’s never been able to lose a decent percentage) – she tried to paint herself as less of a threat than Andrea.
Andrea has never been a threat. Unless she figures out what’s been blocking her weight loss results, she’ll never be a threat. So… if this group really WANTS to keep someone around who has no chance of winning; in order to ensure themselves a slot in the Final Four … and they have a choice between someone they all like and someone they all dislike… I think the choice is obvious.
Melissa didn’t have a chance.
Was that fair? It doesn’t matter. She brought it on herself. She should have seen it coming in the pool challenge, when everyone acted as though she were a garbage barge instead of a contestant. She saw the result of her words; on the rest of the contestants.
Every contestant on a game show wants to win the prize – or why would they be there? Bob could have been telling Melissa every weight loss tool in the world or selling her magic beans, for all she knew. All she cared about was trying to get his advice on how soon she should push the button. If she really didn’t think she could win the whole contest, why did she press so hard to stay?
Anyone watching this show.....
