This week on the
Biggest Loser Michael proved he has what it takes to be a record
breaker and a true winner.
But somebody, please –
get that man to “What Not to Wear”!
Finale night on the
Biggest Loser is always full of amazing transformations and with the
joy of seeing the season’s contestants celebrate their own
accomplishment. This year was no exception.
Everyone lost weight
this year, and though some may not have broken records or made us
gasp in admiration, they all look happier, healthier and ready to
carry on with their journey toward healthy lives.
I knew, going in, that
not only did I really hope Daris would be the person voted into the
finale, but that it was likely he would be the one.
Of course, he was.
When he first came out,
I got a bit worried because at first glance, it didn’t look as
though he’d lost much more weight than at the marathon episode.
I was really glad to hear him say he’d found a girlfriend, and
she looks as sweet as pie.
Don’t hurt him,
girlie – or you’ll have a nation of Daris fans at your
doorstep with torches and pitchforks.
While Allison was
dragging out the reading of the audience vote, Koli hung his head.
He must have suspected the verdict. Either he was resigned to
competing for the at-home prize (which he had to know he had a good
chance to win).
Sorry, Koli – but
you brought it on yourself. Between selling out Stephanie and your
gameplay (while vehemently speaking out AGAINST gameplay); to your
confident promise that you’d win the whole thing, you were
destined to be voted out by the audience. I know you have your fans
– and no one can take away your amazing accomplishment.
But face it, dude.
You’ve been
“Heba’d”.
Koli had the biggest
percentage of weight loss for the evening. He could have won. The
confetti could have been for him. And, had the vote been taken at
the beginning of the season, it might have BEEN for him. At the
beginning of this season, both Grey team cousins seemed to be very
admirable guys. They were motivational, inspirational and they were
great sports.
Not so much, toward the
end.
So he won the $100,000.
I certainly wish Darrell (or even Sherry!) had hung in there and
beaten him, but he did what it took and he won the prize. I
congratulate him. I have to wonder why his stare – while
standing on stage and especially while on the scale – seemed so
intense. Was he staring out at the audience and memorizing their
faces for a future vendetta? That’s what it looked like. He
did an amazing job. He looks completely transformed. Now take your
money and have a happy life. You won! Celebrate! Instead, he
grumbled when Allison asked him how he felt; “I just want to go
home with my family.” Well, OK, then.
But one of your family.....
