Dancing With The Stars Recap: Motown Night Shines And 10 Paddles Pop Recap and Commentary by RTVC Staff Writer Melissa Stavarski
April 24, 2012
He's back.
It’s Motown week on Dancing with the Stars.
Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves, and The Temptations will perform throughout the show, including during the dances.
The eight remaining couples will dance their individual dances as well as participate in a dance marathon at the end of the show.
The dance marathon allows the judges to further inflate their favorites’ scores.
Smokey Robinson opens the show. He sounds incredible, as always, but he looks like a singing corpse.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
The stiffness and blank forward-looking stare leave me incredibly uncomfortable.
Martha Reeves is interesting. The Temptations sounds good. Smokey Robinson’s eyes are mesmerizing, even if a little scary. Are they naturally that beautiful or is that what eyes look like after embalming a body?
Tom and Brooke introduce the stars. Maria looks like a walking mirror ball trophy.
ABC fails to show Donald’s entrance. Perhaps the camera man was momentarily blinded by Maria’s dress.
Melissa looks beautiful in green this week. Mark looks like a fool in his golden shoes and jacket and hat.
Meanwhile, Katherine’s chest and hair are pushed to new heights.
Gladys and Tristan are decked out in their purple best.
William, Roshon, and Jaleel fail to make an initial impression on me. Will the dancing follow suit?
Gladys Knight and Tristan MacManus are kicking off Motown week, rightfully so.
Bubba, Gladys’s brother and the original Pip, joins Gladys and Tristan in rehearsals.
Bubba shows Tristan how to move and groove, Motown style. I wish Bubba could join them during their routine. He’s cute and seems like a lot of fun.
Gladys and Tristan dance the Rumba to The Temptations.
Tristan, in head to toe purple, looks like a grapey Clark Kent. As always, Gladys lights up the room. She definitely looks right at home tonight, but I do think she’s the weakest dancer left in the competition.
