Dancing With The Stars Recap: The Cruel Duel And Insulting Single Mothers Recap and Commentary by RTVC Staff Writer Melissa Stavarski

Katherine and Mark? Safe!
The last AT&T performance of the season features Richard “Steelo” Vazquez. He has an incredible story.
At the height of his dancing career, he suffered a brain aneurysm. In the end, he fell victim to three ruptures and lost his ability to walk, eat, and speak.
He performs with his group, The Goovaloos. This is his first public appearance since his injury last June. He’s amazing.
The four remaining couples are in the skybox with Brooke.
Maria and Derek, Roshon and Chelsie, Kym and Jaleel, and Melissa and Maks; two of these couples are safe and two are headed to the dance duel.
Brooke asks Maria how her feet feel. She giggles.
Derek interrupts to say that Steelo’s dance was one of the most inspiring things he has ever seen on the show.
Roshon says he put in a lot of work to prepare for the dance duel. If he has to Rumba, he’s ready. Melissa is also ready.
Jaleel says he handles his disappointments with food. He says, and I quote, “I ate cheesecake last night like a divorced mother of three.” He is seriously a pompous ass.
Melissa takes offense to the comment, rightfully so, but shrugs it off.
It’s Gavin time! He sings “Sweeter” while Karina and Louis dance.
Instead of results, Tom and Brooke introduce us to the ballroom brawl.
We have Team Cheryl, Team Tony, and Team Louis. This is what we call F-I-L-L-E-R.
I could not care less about any of this. Nevertheless, Tom does not care what I care about so he continues with the fluff disguised as a very important brawl.
There’s a Jive relay. The dances are fast, fast, and fast. Tom talks fast. Tom pushes the judges to vote fast. It’s all really very fast. And pointless.
Now that Cheryl’s team won a shiny trophy for their fast Jive, we get to see how the remaining stars react to last night’s performances.
Vamp Maria is overjoyed. Roshon is trying to leave but the camera man wants to chat.
Jaleel cracks himself up by saying something not even remotely funny.
I can’t tell if Melissa is really very bothered by the judges’ comments or if she’s playing a part.
