Dancing With The Stars Recap: Donald Driver Was Robbed And Carrie Ann Is A Lunatic Recap and Commentary by RTVC Staff Writer Melissa Stavarski
May 8, 2012
Robbed says I.
There are six stars still battling for the win on Dancing with the Stars.
The stakes are raised this week. Each star has to learn two dances and the two that fail to impress will be sent home.
My initial recap simply read - Donald Driver was robbed. Carrie Ann is a lunatic. Also, Donald Driver was robbed.
I told my cat I refuse to write more about this week’s show.
She showed the same concern she shows when the wrong person is voted off American Idol and I threaten the reality TV authorities that I’ll never watch their shows again.
That is, no concern whatsoever for my mental breakdown. Both the authorities and my cat know I’m full of empty promises. Promises my husband wishes that someday I’ll really truly mean and keep.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
So, here I am, writing more. I’ll decide if I will finish the season after the double elimination results.
My cat is rolling her eyes and wants you to know I will.
The individual dances are first.
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd open the show, dancing the Tango.
Peta tells us the Tango is all about sharp movements, staccato footwork, and great posture.
Donald starts to crack under the added pressure this week brings in rehearsals. He kicks a pole and covers his face with his blindingly orange shirt, complete with dramatic music to set the mood.
Donald settles, returns to his football roots, and studies videos of the pros dancing the Tango.
Peta’s costume is bad. She looks like a dominatrix on top and a Hefty trash bag on the bottom. Donald’s suit doesn’t do him any favors either.
I’m obviously biased, but I love their dance. It looks to be completely in rhythm, sharp, and full of personality.
Donald’s family enthusiastically cheers. His kids are adorable; his son is rocking one of Gavin’s hats.
Len says, “Ding dong, Donald! A first-round knockout.”
