Dancing With The Stars Recap: Donald Driver Was Robbed And Carrie Ann Is A Lunatic Recap and Commentary by RTVC Staff Writer Melissa Stavarski
May 8, 2012
Carrie Ann reminds us there is a double elimination. She mentions this at least 32 more times before the end of the two hours. Carrie Ann asks for more drama.
Carrie Ann gives them a nine. Len gives them a nine. Bruno gives them a nine. 27 out of 30.
The score is fair and spot on, in my opinion, but it’ll be ruined by others’ over-scoring.
Maria Menounous and Derek Hough are dancing the Viennese Waltz.
Surprisingly, the rehearsal clip sheds a bad light on the Golden Boy for the second week in a row. He’s acting like a foul-mouthed three year old.
Maria is struggling to learn the dance. I have no doubts they’ll recover and dance a great dance. This seems to be their thing. There is always some drama in the center of their rehearsal clip.
Either Maria breaks a rib, Derek smashes Maria’s face into the hardwood floor, Maria crushes more bones, Derek throws a tantrum, Maria cries, Derek insults her femininity, or Maria struggles to learn the dance.
Then, they miraculously recover, make up, and make out. I’m totally onto their farce and it’s getting old.
As I suspected, they work out all of their kinks and their dance is quite lovely.
Season 14 needs to retire the fog machine. But, other than that, it was a scrupulous performance.
They have good chemistry, Maria’s dress is beautiful, the music is perfect, and they move well together.
Bruno says their seamless transitions and their perfect emotions are amazing.
Maria is very emotional and Tom asks her why. She loves the dance, ice cream, music, monkeys, dancing with Derek, blah, blah, blah.
I don’t know what all she loves but she blubbers through a pretty extensive list.
Carrie Ann heard angels sing during their dance.
Len is disappointed in Derek’s choreography this week. Somewhere, pigs are flying, and Bruno and Carrie Ann are birthing cows under the table. The look on their faces is comical.
Len says, “I would have liked a little bit more dancing in hold.” Len’s negative feedback is causing a ruckus in the ballroom.
Bruno and Carrie Ann are incessantly defending Maria and Derek’s dance to Len and the audience is booing as we cut to commercial.
Carrie Ann gives them a ten. Len gives them an eight. Bruno gives them a ten.
