Dancing With The Stars: Your Hearts All Fuzzy And Your Eyes All Teary
November 11, 2009
|
Cinderella is in the house.
One last couple gets the boot on Dancing with the Stars as three pairs secure spots for the Season 9 finale. Plus, Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis, the Bee Gees, the dancers from Nine and Melissa Rycroft perform.
How did it all go down? Find out below!
Shocker! Mya and Dmitry's salsa get the encore, mostly because Len wants to see her tooty-fruity booty again.
Recaps follow, during which we learn Kelly totally improvised her rumba solo because she forgot the choreography. And yet she still did more than Joanna did in her choreographed solo.
Joanna says she's going to treasure the judges' comments forever. Donny's crying, embarrassed and mad that he blew his tango, but does a Jekyll/Hyde after he kicks ass in the last two dances. Mya's scared for next week. Hmmm...
Time for more stalling. Everyone comments on their competition. Like Kenny Mayne did, the others confuse Mya for a pro.
Joanna has graceful lines, but is too hard on herself, Donny says. Pot, kettle?
The gals don't think Donny makes any mistakes, except for having wardrobe malfunctions, that is. Kelly has transfixed her rivals with her metamorphosis into an elegant woman.
Next are back-to-back performances from Nine dancers (The Dench should be here) and Alicia Keys, and a cringeworthy, lip-synching "Under Pressure" music video that I am embarrassed to be watching. Freddie Mercury is spinning like a top in his grave.
And now, 28 minutes in, we get our first result.
First safe couple: Mya and Dmitry
Leona Lewis takes the stage next, looking less lioness than she usually does. Thankfully, no one hits her in the face.
Backstage, Mya's happy, naturally. Joanna's near tears reminiscing about her journey and looks resigned to leaving.
Second safe couple: Donny and Kym
The Bee Gees conclude the Endless Night of Performances with "You Should Be Dancing," a rendition that's more chipmunk-y than usual, to celebrate their 50th anniversary. A barefoot Melissa Rycroft joins in on the hustle with Tony at the end — back by popular demand. Raise your hand, er, comment below, if you signed the petition to get her back.
Pro Routines Pros work hard, guys. Don't hate.
We get a behind.....
