Luciana
Current Ranking: 1         Previous Ranking: 2
Finally we got a contestant that has sold to all three buyers. In the beginning of the season, I wouldn't have expected Luciana to be the first, but unlike people like Ross or Barbara Luciana is actually listening to both the mentors and judges and pushing herself. This week her structured dress was a hit. This champion bowler chose really strong prints that I finally loved all three. For the piece with black, I appreciated the weird black on top that faded out right at the chest line. I loved the silver dress because of the small yellow accents and for the last one, dubbed "watercolor," it had this great pop and shine. While the whole seam line with prints was ignored, that's a little thing that with more time she and her sewing team should consider.

Kara
Current Ranking: 2         Previous Ranking: 1
While I wasn't a fan of Kara's outfits this week, her sale to Saks was the highest of the night, actually hitting $100,000. I wasn't a fan of the looseness of the suits because the word "suit" for me involves a lot more tailoring. I think that her pieces tonight could have sold separately better, whereas all of the loose pieces together made it look unfinished. My biggest offender of her clothes was the plaid short. The plaid short screamed golfer's pants and I really don't think that women want to look like their husband's caddy. I also don't understand how she's so hesitant about using ivory when she's used ivory and has been successful in previous weeks.

Ronnie
Current Ranking: 3         Previous Ranking: 4
Ronnie seems like the sleeper contestant this season where he could make it to the finals and no one would have seen it coming, possibly because he was skipped over in the first few episodes whereas people like Nzmiro, Orly, and Kara have been more consistent with their exposure. Ronnie created a great evening dress or even a sub-par bridesmaids dress this week and chose colors that were safe and accessible. The whole over-the-shoulder look is done a billion times, but at least he attempted to put some sort of pop right at the shoulder. I didn't like the slit of the dress and actually thought it was too high. If the models just "Jolied" the slit, I think I would have appreciated it more.

Orly
Current Ranking: 4         Previous Ranking: 8
Orly finally grew out of doing her "two-fers" this week. I really hated her column gowns because of how weird the top half had looseness while the bottom part was pencil-skirt tight. Why was there so much fabric in the front? It looked like her models were trying to cover a baby bump. The cuts on the sides of the dresses were also distracting. The only dress I liked was the gold dress that had the print bottom because of how it broke the lines much better. I thought the zippers were nice though on the periwinkle dress and it was probably the one redeeming factor of that piece.

Nzimiro
Current Ranking: 5         Previous Ranking: 5
Nzmiro noted the one design flaw that he calls his one trademark: he creates menswear that is a bit too busy for being accessible. Menswear has a bit more of a timeless factor to it so by adding several pops, it goes out of style quickly. I think if he focused on one color here, one pop at the button holes, or maybe really nice lining inside of the jackets he'd survive. While he was challenged to make suits, I was surprised the degree of casualness that they exuded. Maybe it's my dislike for pants with the odd hemline and boat shoes, but everything screamed yacht club.

Nikki
Current Ranking: 6         Previous Ranking: 7
I think Nikki got stuck with her trip to the vintage store with Nicole Richie because her clothes looked too retro. I get that she's a beach designer with Miami undertones, but she continues to only make clothes that are her. She has had moments of promise, but then gets a week where she stumbles. The fact that last week she was in the bottom and saved, then this week she's still in the bottom three, Nikki is probably the next to go if she doesn't push herself even further.

Ross
Current Ranking: 7         Previous Ranking: 3
I don't understand how Ross continues to survive when he creates a really boring set of clothing because he continues to only cater to his one Texas-born client. The belt that cinched the waist? Everyone does that and he didn't even make it look sexy or modern. The fact that the fit was awful on the top, and he mentioned it himself, made the belting look very muffin-top on the girls. Of all the girls walking for him the beige dress looked awful because of the brown belt, brown shoes, and oversized turquoise ring. I was expecting a fedora hat to complete the look.
