The Glass House: A Boring Snorefest So Lame It's A Shame
Commentary by RTVC Senior Staff Writer Cindy Rutolo Dietrich

If it were up to the
house, would he
survive?
Last week, ABC’s, “The Glass House,” dressed itself up in “Big Brother’s” clothes during their weekly, four hour, live-stream show.
The whole thing was looser. It was unscripted. It was real. It flowed.
There was lots of drinking, as usual. There was also a lot of tension. This resulted in a lot of tears and shouting as the players grew bold.
For once we were allowed to listen, unfettered, as this began to unfold.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
It was the first, and only time I felt like I was watching a “Big Brother”- Live-feed, minus the four different views.
Oracle, the disembodied female voice, who’s usually directing their every move, seemed to disappear for longer periods of time.
I wondered what was happening?
Why had they never done this before?
Why were they doing it then?
Was this a response to viewer complaints?
Was it an attempt to stop a ratings drop?
Did they do it because they’ve won the lawsuit with CBS, thus far, claiming they’ve copied the format of CBS’s summer hit, “Big Brother?” Because this was huge, and it had me confused.
Was this change in format a fluke? Would it happen again? Were they going to do this every week?
Were they actually going to give us a clear peak at what was happening between the players of, “The Glass House?”
It took me week to find out for sure. But, alas, the answer appears to be no.
I waited to see if they’d do the same thing during one, or all of their thrice weekly, one hour live feeds shows.
But they were all as stilted and scripted and silly as ever.
Still, I actually expected the same thing to happen after Monday Night’s Network Show.
Unfortunately, last week’s change in format must truly have been a fluke. Monday Night’s Glass House, Live-Stream was as scripted as before. It was literally a four hour bore.
