Welcome to The Glass House, your summer diversion for 2012.
My personal spin is that if Big Brother and Survivor had a love child, this would be it.
Apologies to both Jeff and Julie. I didn’t mean you two personally.
Until last Friday we weren’t positive that we would even be here this evening. The excitement all surrounded lawyers and judges and restraining orders. Wow.
What all that proved to me is that this might just be one heckuva show.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
I cannot believe CBS would spend all that money on legal beagles just to hype someone else’s show unless they were really worried that it would be a hit.
So what is Glass House?
The short version is that it is a conglomeration of many of the best bits from a number of reality contests.
We have audience participation; we have after hours viewing inside the house; we have the social game and we have contests.
We even have Exile Island! Whoops. They call it Limbo but it’s still the place for losers to go away from the game while you decide their fate. Yep, YOU.
For all the details, and there are many, please click here, it will open in a new window for you and you won't lose your place on this page.
There are only ten episodes to this show, so it should be jam packed with all the stuff you have come to expect from your favorite reality contests. Here we go.
The opening scenes show the glass house itself. It is really a house and it is really made of glass.
Cool.
Then they show us clips of the usual reality kind … bikinis and foolish people behaving badly. The voice over calls this “the show they didn’t want you to see”. Yep.
Now we introduce the fourteen players. I’m not sure what we will call them. Hamster has been used.
We have Alex, a talkative typical reality player and Andrea who is a Mormon mom and already outside of her comfort zone.
