Winning Castaway is Rescued in Finale of TBS's New Reality Series
The Real Gilligan's Island
More Reward and Safety Challenges, and the Dramatic Rescue in
Special Two-Hour Finale on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)
New competitions result in luxury rewards, safety from eliminations and the long-awaited rescue on the finale of the new reality series The Real Gilligan's Island on TBS.
In last week's episodes, the game took a turn and the castaways learned that the new banishment process is determined by their own votes.
Mary Ann Kate won a romantic pizza date for finding a diamond ring in a fish, and Millionaire's Wife Mindy earned safety from banishment in the "Last Tiki Standing" challenge.
The castaways voted Professor Pat off the island in Voodoo Village. Then in a blinding reward challenge, Mary Ann Kate and Gilligan Chris won a treasure chest of gold. In the safety challenge, Millionaire Glenn earned protection from banishment in a challenging obstacle course. The castaways voted Ginger Rachel Hunter off the island.
Five castaways remain at the beginning of the two-hour finale on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), but only one is rescued at the end.
The first challenge blends fine foods with strong will, rewarding the winner with a plate of his/her favorite food. The next competition is a true test of stamina and observation to decide which castaway can outsmart the others. After the last elimination in Voodoo Village, a final challenge determines which castaway will be dramatically rescued from The Real Gilligan's Island.

TBS will be bringing back the 1960's sitcom, Gilligan's Island, this fall as a Reality TV Show.
The show will be produced by The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss who claims to be a fan of the original Sherwood Schwartz series.
Fliess says it's "like a dream come true" to produce the reality-show version. This version will also cast an actual boat captain, first mate, actress, professor, millionaire couple and farm girl, all of whom will be stranded on an island.
They have to work together to get off the island. Some of the things they will have to do will resemble old episodes of the sitcom. The show has the cooperation of Sherwood Schwartz and his son Lloyd, both of whom have executive producer credits.
