Wheat or Chaff?
A fresh look at recent history was on the menu again last night in Hell’s Kitchen.
While Kimmie’s performance went south and Brian’s anger was close to rivaling Chef Ramsay’s, the quiet ones have soldiered on to the promised land of black jackets.
Who would have ever thought that Kimmie would be brought down by a menu that seemed tailored just for her?
Her demise certainly wasn’t due to her inability to cook Southern food; it is her specialty.
But she psyched herself right out of the competition by focusing on Chef Ramsay’s expectations of her. She demonstrated an inability to lead and cook at the same time.

Brian, however, had been slowly spiraling downward for several episodes now.
His immaturity and his anger have played just as big a part in leading to his picture going up in flames, as his lack of culinary skills, perhaps more so.
Both Kimmie and Brian had one thing in common that put them on the path leading right out of Hell’s Kitchen: the inability to work under pressure.
Few can withstand the heat of Hell’s Kitchen as that pressure gets more and more intense, and the wheat is slowly being separated from the chaff.
From here on out, Chef Ramsay is going to turn up that heat even higher to finish the process.
Taking a closer look at the six remaining contestants, the quiet ones continue to succeed in the background while the drama plays out on center stage.
However, the quiet ones were not the only ones to earn a black jacket, and it’s time to take a closer look at the dynamics between the remaining six contestants.
The former Red Team members that remain are definitely stronger than some of their counterparts in blue.
They also have overcome their petty differences with each other and are operating like a well-oiled machine.
The remnants of the former Blue Team, however, are an entirely different story, one that can only end badly.
There is no unity there. Robyn simply won’t allow it.
