This season of Project Runway opened in the fashionable city that never sleeps and is the season to see!
The challenge was for the designers to create a piece that expressed who they were! In the midst of the competition, yes, some things never change. Zippers are always sticking. Designers are always changing their designs at the last minute. People are always peeking over at their peer’s work. Some look like they won’t even finish, but end up winning the whole thing. And Heidi is always sporting her latest bun in the oven.
The usual.
But the end result is what made this group different from the rest of the seasons.
Obsessed with fashion reality, I have been a fan of the show since the very first episode.
With a pretty impressive group of designs walking down the runway on the first day, it was hard to find the weak link of this group. There were so many polished pieces, sassy silhouettes, dainty details, quality textiles, and meticulous craftsmanship, it was impossible to pick a favorite! Tailored or feminine – they mostly all gave me chills!
Nicole Richie, who is said to be launching a line, sat as the celebrity guest and was a fan of many of the innovative pieces!
