Project Runway: Big Egos And Big Butts

She's a contender.
Who knew that in order to make it on “Project Runway,” you may have to take a line or two from Beyonce!
One of the contestants proved you can very well win a challenge if you “got a big ego” and “can back it up.”
Back to the basics, “Project Runway” went on episode two of the seventh season’s! Miss Heidi Klum hinted that the eager designers were taking a “field trip” that was “a little out there.” Soon the fashion competitors found their potential models standing on a farm wearing of all things, potato sacks!
Designing a party look…out of burlap could make many nervous, but these designers took the challenge in stride, wanting to prove what they were made of.
The fabric normally used to make bags or even build things seems to be the go-to fabric for interesting fashion reality show challenges. Other shows that have used it are “She’s Got the Look” and “America’s Next Top Model.” “Runway” fans know they will see burlap like they have never seen it before!
The models chose the designers this time around. Even though this twist was placed to shake things up, the most intriguing part of the show still remained in who could present the course, yet loose fabric in the most “aesthetically pleasing” way.
The season seven cast is an animated, edgy and an eccentric bunch. As a whole, they are self-assured and not hesitant in defining their vision while crafting their garments.
Still very early on in the competition, some designers are already making statements.
There are a couple of designers that don’t let their work speak for themselves as much as others though. Mila Hermanovski, the last designer picked from the models, is one who seems to have applied to the wrong show. Perhaps “Real World” or “Big Brother” would have suited her better some time ago. When others are working, she likes to talk (smack that is.)
“Runway” tends to like lukewarm, sneaky types that seem to harbor a dual purpose – to design, but also get under their competitor’s skin while doing it. Surprisingly enough, these types go far in the competitions, therefore many of the designers who try to stay out the clear need to watch out and try as focused as possible.
Remember quirky, and unpopular Wendy Pepper from the first season? Her immature moody ways didn’t keep her from climbing to top three. Mila is also reminiscent of Season five’s Kenley who also made it pretty far despite her lack of people skills. We will see if Mila follows in their footsteps.
Another talker is the tell it like it is.....
