Project Runway: The Creme de la Creme - Ranking The Remaining 7
Rankings by RTVC Senior Staff Writer Donna Emery

This week on Project Runway, Tim Gunn called the remaining eight designers, "the creme de la creme".
Maybe so, but the last time I looked, cream wasn't predominantly dark.
This season - possibly taking its cue from last season's winner, Irina - the majority of the designs have been black, We've had some pretty colors (Anthony's blue dress for Heidi comes to mind) but many of the winners have had dark themes. They're working as though the infusion of color, to their garments, would light them on fire.
Even last week, when the contestants could have chosen fiery colors, once again we had black and grey and umber.
Maybe color is a personal preference, and this year the fashion industry is picking darker palettes, If so, these designers are right on track.
The designers worked in teams, again, and there seemed to be less conflict - even from those who admittedly disliked each other. Anthony was cringing at Maya's "control issues" and Jay and Mila both were scared the other person might "throw them under the bus." That almost happened.
Capturing the theme of a neighborhood seemed an interesting idea, and some of them took it to heart. Although Anthony made a dress with a side ruffle, once again, this ruffle was unique and interesting. Mila's design - while as well-constructed as always - was predictably black and white. However, I did love the bright red tights she put with it.
Emilio's attitude when choosing Harlem seemed a bit pretentious. He felt he couldn't let "his people" down. While he didn't - at least in the judges' eyes - I feel his dress was overrated, although I did like the gold lining. The dress was a long zippered shift. Big deal.
Emilio showed Seth Aaron around the town as though Seth Aaron were from another country. Yet, I felt Seth Aaron's outfit was the better one. It was reminniscient of his "little girl" outfit but showed imagination and captured the flavor of the graffitti they had planned to incoporate. The tailoring on the back of that jacket was really nice and, as always, exquisitely done.
Now that Emilio, Seth Aaron and Jay have all captured two runway wins, I can really understand Maya's frustration in not having won, yet. Maya has done some very good outfits; yet always ends up in second or third place. At this point, when there are only seven left, it must be frustrating to be the only one without a win. She must feel like a definite "bridesmaid" amongst the Runway Brides.
I feel as though there have been enough reversals in the rankings, so far; as we come near the finale, it's becoming easy to see the judges' favorites/preferences. So... here are the rankings, as I see them, for this week:
