Real Housewives NYC: Holy Catfight! It's Back On!
Recap by RTVC Staff Writer Teri C.
February 23, 2009
The Real Housewives of New York is back and, Holy Catfight, it’s already promising to be more dramatic and real than its inaugural season! I just decided to recap the show for Reality TV Calendar so my apologies for this recap coming out days late. But finding a recap online for this awesome show is extremely difficult so I hope you enjoy my commentary, late as it is. This week I'll be back on track.

Coming back is Bethany, sharp-tongued as ever, LuAnn, or shall I call her Countess, Ramona, still mean and clueless to her tactless mouth, Jill, our definite fiery, hot tempered, right back at ya, true to self, smart-mouthed New Yorker and the odd but interesting Simex. Simex is comprised of housewife Alex who can't seem to live a moment without her other half, Simon. As if those five women can't fill up an hour of television with their petty issues of what a real housewife slash socialite must endure on a daily basis, someone in casting decides we need a new housewife.

Oddly enough, she's not married. Thus, she is technically not a housewife. Then again, neither is Bethenny. Meet Kelly Killoren Bensimon.

According to Bravotv.com, Kelly is a "Mother of two daughters, a model, equestrian, author, editor and designer. She recently created a line of costume jewelry and a collaboration of sweaters that were sold in major department stores nationwide. The former Editor of Elle Accessories, an ambassador for Wool Corp., she is also the face of Saks Fifth Avenue's "Wear" Campaign for spring 2009." So what does all this mean to us viewers? Nothing except for she should add some major drama trying to one-up the other housewife veterans. Bethenny calls her a true socialite so

I can only take it that she should bring a lot of you-are-beneath-me qualities that can rival that only of our resident Countess de Lesseps.

So where did the premiere of RHONYC take us? Let's recap! Jill and Bethenny are hanging out when Bethenny reads the NY Post where an article quotes Jill saying that Simon is a drunk and a jerk. When she gave the interview she was peeved at Simon doing an interview with NY magazine talking about her and her background of growing up in Long Island. He told the magazine that it was apparent she grew up there as if it was dead center in the projects. Jill knew she gave a counter-interview out of spite but also claimed that some of her words were twisted and made her to look extremely catty. Jill, trying to be a bigger person, called Alex & Simon, whom I like to call Simex, to apologize. Alex wanted Simon to take the call to which he promptly announced he had to leave. So Jill tried to apologize to an un-accepting Alex who flatly told Jill that she was just jealous of Simon. Bethenny, listening via speakerphone, gave her best, "uh-uh...no you di'nt!" to wit Jill agreed with Alex that she hit the nail on the head. She was jealous of Simon and hung up the phone. If you can’t reason with them, agree with them.

From that point everyone has.....
I, live in Tacoma, WA, with my husband, Ricky and my 3 dogs, Shaka, Harleigh and Parker. I am an 8th grade teacher and LOVE working with that age of children. In addition to all things reality TV, I love Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, TLC and Discovery Health. I'm addicted to time management PC games and IM'ing. If you'd like to chat you can add "Terencia" to your Yahoo! Messenger or e-mail me at TeachingTeri@gmail.com. I'm open not just to RH (of OC, NYC or Atlanta) but most any reality show. If I am currently watching it, I'd be glad to give you my OPINION as always :-)
