So You Think You Can Dance:
Results Show
Recap by Jacob D
June 20, 2008
On last week's results show, the first guy and girl to be sent home were Rayven and Jamie. This week, the top nine couples danced a second routine, but three of them will be facing elimination. Which couples are safe and which are in the line of fire? Let's find out.
The show starts out with a Shane Sparks choreographed group number to the Flo Rida song, "Elevator." Since Flo Rida is actually performing on this week's results show, I guess you can count this as a double shot of the popular rapper. The guys are dressed in crisp suits and the girls are wearing corset tops and baggy pants. Each performs separately as a group and then together. I don't know, I liked last week's group number better.
Then, Cat gets right to the business of announcing the results. The first three couples on the stage are Katee & Joshua, Twitchington, and Chelsea T. & Thayne. I'm guessing the first two are safe while Chelsea & Thayne are in the bottom three and I'm right, as Cat drops the bomb on Chelsea & Thayne, while the others have made it through to the next round. Chelsea T. & Thayne are our first couple in this week's bottom three, but who will join them?
The next three couples to learn their fates are the two surviving couples from last week's bottom three, Kourtni L. & Matt plus Jessica & Will, and also Chelsie H. & Mark. Chelsie H. & Mark had a solid tango so I'm guessing they're safe, but will one of the other couples be making a return trip to the bottom group? Nope. Surprisingly, all three of them are safe, which means two couples from the next group are in danger and I only got one couple right in my predictions. Well, at least my favorites don't have to face eliminations again.
Our last three couples are Susie & Marquis, Comfort & Chris, and Courtney G. & Gev. I have a hunch that the safe couple in this group is Courtney and Gev. After a rough salsa last night, Cat tells Susie & Marquis that they are in the bottom group. Joining them, despite the fact that they went last this week and made quite a splash last week, are Comfort & Chris. To recap, that means our bottom three couples and facing elimination are Chelsea T. & Thayne, Susie & Marquis, and Comfort & Chris.
After the results have been read, it's time for this week's guest dancer. This man actually auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance twice in the past and is now America's number one flamenco dancer. The man in question is Timo Nunez, whom I still remember from season one. I think he auditioned in some kind of Spanish or Bollywood costume and he was extra hot. This week is no exception as he melts the stage with his machismo and charisma, not to mention his bare torso covered only by a lone black vest. Encore, encore!
