Stimpy’s Thoughts
I promised myself one thing going into this, and that was not to ask ‘why?’ with anyone who was invited back for this season.

As much as I want to, I’m holding true to that vow.

Wow, where does one get started with Candice? Probably with Probst managing to say why she was cast as a hero with a straight face. Jeff’s whole assertion was that when Candice mutinied during the Cook Islands, he said it was a testament to her character that she opted for a chance at something no one had previously done (though I KNOW Shii Ann was tempted as all get out during Thailand), and because of that move - to stick with the people she was loyal too, that’s what made her a hero.

Actually, no. It made her stupid beyond belief.

Let’s face facts here folks, that was Candice’s signature moment during Cook Islands, and she didn’t make it out of loyalty, nor strategy, nor fear for her game life.

She made it simply because she wanted to be with her pals. Plain and simple.

From a strategic point of view, it solidified her with her allies, but she was not cast in a good light with people who weren’t her allies.

Now, I admit, she seems to realize this a bit in her bio interview, and vows to have a relationship with everyone and not just those in her alliance.

And, it’s because she realizes when your back is up against the wall and you need someone from outside your alliance to help you out, needing an introduction to talk to someone else first isn’t the best way to get their help.

That being said, I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts (mmmm donuts) that Candice was a fall-back, because the producers couldn’t get a few others….hell, maybe even four or five others for all I know.

I don’t recall Candice being anything of a force during Cook Islands, and other than getting into a clique of an alliance, she didn’t do much of anything. Well, outside of the mutiny of course, and we’ve already covered that.

As such, if yer looking for an early boot off the Heroes tribe, Candice is a good one to put your money on.
