Where did the
gentle giant go?
Greeting Survivor fans. Episode two is in the books and you are all in for a treat.
Jenny is off this week, so you get me subbing for her in a, what I shall try to keep snark-free, recap.
But do not despair, the snarfest and commentary will also be done.
So let’s get down to what transpired, shall we?
We begin with Probst recapping the fact that after ten years, there has been several Survivors who’ve been on the up and up, and just as many who’ve been devious schemers.
Thus, we are lead to this season pitting ten of the all time great heroes against ten of the all time great villains.
Jeff continues to recap how the Heroes bonded and worked well, although JT acted a bit like a villain by making conflicting alliances.
Whereas over on the Villains tribe, things didn’t mesh quite as well, because Rob was the only one who worked.
And, even though there was no indication of it last week, Rob’s exertions around camp have the potential to affect his health. Also, the lack of work from everyone not named Rob could affect things with the potential for bad weather on the horizon.
Hmm. Wonder why those fact were in there? Oh, well maybe it’ll come up later.
Oh yeah, something else also happened last week. Russell the Dick™ picked right up where he left off in Samoa. No, not by losing, but by forming alliances right out of the gate with the likes of Danielle and Parvati.
Despite it all, the Villains prevailed in the Immunity Challenge, sending the Heroes to the first Tribal Council where Sugar was unceremoniously, and unanimously dumped.
Which leads us to this week, where the bad weather does get addressed right off the bat, as the Villains endure a rather strong rain storm in their less than sheltering, shelter.
We see various night time shots of the Villains all looking quite miserable as the rain drenches them.
There are a few complaining comments bandied about, before Rob tells us privately that there is a serious lack of work ethic on the Villains tribe. And, how constantly being the only one who works is taking a toll on him and sapping his strength.
Rob also bemoans his ‘Survivor luck’ as he once again finds himself on the ‘buffoon tribe.’ It happened to him in Marquesas (Hunter, Sean and Gina all say ‘pardon?’), and it happened to him on All-Stars (Amber gives him a steely glare as she hears that for the first time), and now it’s happened again.
The new day dawns with Douche™.....
