Survivor Nicaragua: Dude, Fabio Wins, Man, Really

“Dude, I’ve been crazy
for a while”.
It’s the final evening on Survivor Nicaragua.
Jeff starts by talking about how unlikely it is that the final five are the final five.
Dan, who has done nothing but has made no enemies.
Holly who had an extremely flaky patch.
Sash who has made enemies and Chase who has made more.
And Fabio who has never been taken seriously.
You are right Jeff. There isn’t a successful strategist among them.
It’s the season of weird ducks and no matter who wins this thing a season of lucky ducks.
If Fabio suddenly whips out a PhD in the history of war, I’ll eat my words.
Day thirty seven and Fabio and Dan are discussing the obvious. The alliance of three needs to be broken up or else.
OMG .. Fabio says “I can’t let them know I’m playing the game.” Fabio, dude, winning immunity does not fall into the column of “I’m playing the game”. It’s just an obvious tactic that everyone is going to be engaged in.
We’re past strategy, kids. Them days is gone. This is just strength and skill in the challenge.
First challenge:
There are lanes set up in the standard mud. There are three little podiums a little way down the track. The survivors must race out to the first set of podiums. The center podium has a question about Nicaragua. The side podiums have answers. Pick one answer. 50-50 chance if you are guessing.
There is a bag hanging on the answer post. Take the bag from the post you think has the correct answer. Run back and dump the bag. If the bag has puzzle pieces you may then run to the next set of podiums and repeat.
If the bag has blank pieces, you must go back to the podium and collect the correct bag and return to the start before you can move on.
Three sets of podiums. Three races out and back if you get them all right. Six if you don’t. Once you have all your puzzle pieces you may solve the puzzle.
Right now, Dan can forget about it. He cannot race faster than the other four on dry land on a good day. This is the standard rainy season mud patch. Unless all four of the others are hopelessly bad at the questions, Dan is the loser on this event.
Of course, being the loser doesn’t.....
