Stimpy's Take:
Hey, she was head cheerleader at Auburn University! Well congrats on your Tigers winning the BCS National Championship game!
Anyhoo, other than that, the first thing that jumped off the bio sheet was she also compares herself to Natalie from Samoa, but goes on to say she’ll have more edge to her game.
And Stimpy goes: Hmmmmm.
In other bio listing, she lists Parvati as being one of her favorite players.
Not too shabby there, Krista. Continue.
She describes herself as driven, competitive and approachable.
All good qualities to possess in this game.
Plus, she seems to know what she’s getting into and knows she can handle most of it from a physical standpoint, from climbing trees to fishing.
Okay, it all sounds good so far, what’s the catch?
Right now, there ain’t one. She also acknowledges that Survivor is the ‘hardest’ game, and while I tend to have a lot of trouble with ‘Go Fish’ myself, I can’t really disagree with her on that one.
Toss in how she says she’s a fierce competitor, but can build trust with people, and how her mental game will be undetectable.
Hmmm. She may be overselling herself a bit too much there.
But, maybe not.
See, what I heard was the collective eye-rolls that went on out there in reader land as you began reading this and then got a peek at Krista’s picture.
And, yer all thinking ‘oh right, Stimpy. If it was a guy who said this, you’d be ripping him a new one’.
Y’know what? I’m a tad offended you’d think I’d be that shallow.
Seriously, folks. . A tear.
Okay, kidding aside. Other than looking great in a bikini, why do I seem to be giving Krista a pass, when I may rip a guy for saying something similar?
Simple. I wouldn’t rip a guy for saying something similar.
The difference between the guys (and girls sometimes) who get ripped for saying their mental game will be undetectable, is because the rest of their bio is usually riddled with disparaging comments about others, and other delusions of grandeur.
Granted, Krista may only have being ‘elected head cheerleader’ on her resume, but other than thinking she can do well, there’s not much dissing of others.
It’s really just that this girl truly believes in herself and her ability to do well.
And, in this game, sometimes that’s half the battle.
Now, I do have to take issue with one thing Krista had to say in her bio. When she said she was in it for the money, and implied that’s what everyone was there for and if they said any differently, then they were lying.
Oh no, young lady. Some are not lying.
Some are literally out there for the experience. Sure, the money is a nice carrot at the end, but they won’t actually do what it takes to get themselves from point A to point B, and still have a shot at winning.
That’s where Krista seems different.
She knows what she’s getting into, and is driven and believes in herself.
One potential problem for Krista however, is that she is yet another with a healthy dislike for The Dick™.
She says he had zero integrity with some of his moves and some of his lies.
While I don’t necessarily disagree with her on that fact, I’d be a skosh worried if she ends up on a tribe with him, and distances herself from him, and in doing so separates herself from a majority on her tribe.
Since there’s more than a few with disdain for The Dick™, I don’t know if it’s a big worry, but it is cause for concern.
That’s one of the problems with only having two returning players. Some people out there for the first time will view them with disdain, as they view this as THEIR kick at the can, and these returnees already had their shot(s).
Again, I don’t know if it’ll end up being a problem for her, but I’d hate to see her animosity for The Dick™ end up screwing her chances in this game.
True, it’ll be her own fault for failing to adapt to a situation, but it’d still be a shame, because there’s lots to like with this young lady.
Keep an eye on her folks.
