Survivor Redemption Island: Steve Wright - Stimpy's Take, Bio, Photo, Video And More

Steve Wright
Stimpy's Take:
Okay, now THIS is a former NFL player. No offense to Grant, but Steve played a helluvalot more than just on special teams.

Turns out, he’s a former teammate of Gary from Guatemala, with the Cowboys, and I actually remember him as a starter for the Los Angeles Raiders (how’s THAT for dating myself?) on the offensive line back in the early nineties.

Now the glowing praise has to stop there, because I’m not overly impressed with Steve’s bio.

First he likens himself to Tom from Palau, and admired how he played. So, I’m guessing Steve didn’t pick up on how manipulative Tom was that season.

Not to diss Tom, ‘cause he did a great job and I praise him for it.

I’m just getting tired of all the hero-worship shit. Tom was great, but he wasn’t a hero during his season. Perhaps on the NYFD he was, but not in Palau.

Anyhoo.

Another problem with Steve is that he’s geared too much towards ‘teamwork’, and there doesn’t seem to be an iota of how HE’S going to succeed and win the game.

It’s as if he thinks being a great team player and being a help around camp is enough to get you the million dollars.

Unfortunately, it usually ain’t.

I’m sure Steve is gonna come off as another great guy (and now that I think of it, there might be enough ‘decent’ people out there that they can root out the players and have a love-in of epic proportions all the way to the end; just don’t count on that), and an awesome tribe mate.

In other words, he’s the kinda guy you won’t want anywhere near the finals.

And with Steve, like many others who’ve come before him, there isn’t the realization that while Survivor does start as a tribal game, it is ALWAYS individual.

More important than that, is something else Steve, like many others who’ve come before him, doesn’t get: Tribes/teams don’t win this game. Individuals do.

Everything in Steve’s bio is geared towards him being a great tribe mate, but not a great individual player.

And that’s what’s gonna keep him from winning.

I dunno even know if I’m confident enough to say he’ll make the jury, because he’s one guy (or the second one, after Mike) that I don’t know I want to be fielding questions from when he’s a member of the jury.

Again, Steve may do well, I just wouldn’t bet on him to win in your office pool.
