Survivor Samoa: Russell the Dick’s™ Rampant Evilness Not So Smart

just a dick.
Well the Survivor Samoa premiere is in the books.
And let me just begin by saying: BOO!!!
I am not impressed with Russell ‘the villain’. He’s just an arrogant prick, and something of an ass too.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves here.
So, let’s back-track a bit shall we?
Okay so we get the requisite shots of the locale and Probst’s description of things. We also saw that both Russell and Shannon made good first impressions during the ‘silent time’ that both tribes endured as they battled the waves.
Then we get those kick-ass words from Jeff himself: Twenty people, thirty-nine days, ONE Survivor.
And, we’re into in earnest.
The elect the leader aspect of things was a neat little twist on last years ‘first impressions’ bit too. Last season, both tribes picked their perceived weakest links, but this year, they get to choose someone to ‘lead’ their respective tribes.
Needless to say, some very astutely pick up on the fact that in this game, sometimes leaders get targeted.
That’s actually a bit of a misnomer to be totally honest.
Leaders are often respected members of the tribe, who don’t piss anyone off and thus don’t get booted as a result.
Idiots who step up and try to get people to follow them by being bossy and belittling them are the ones who get dumped. They invariably think it’s because they tried to take a leadership role, but in reality, it’s because they were arrogant morons who pissed everyone else off.
Just sayin’.
So we start with Galu and their voting. To say my jaw hit the floor when Erik got a vote would be an understatement. But, then again, it was based on him not opening his mouth and revealing what a goober I believe him to be, so I suppose I should take it with a grain of salt.
Then we see the votes begin to split between Shannon - just an aside, I dunno if I’m cool with calling her ‘Shambo’ just yet - and as one person put it, the better looking version of Lennox Lewis - namely Russell, the Nice.
If nothing else he’s certainly.....
