then gets snuffed.
Last week’s annual Thanksgiving week clip show on Survivor South Pacific proved exactly one thing.

The editors and producers are totally in charge and we viewers are the dupes.

Sure, we mostly know that what we see is highly orchestrated, but they do such a dang good job that it’s easy to get sucked in.

A major case in point is New Coach.

For multiple seasons we have faithfully watched Old Coach, who has always presented himself as an egotistic bombastic buffoon.

This season we have been presented with a fellow who is wise, who is kind, who is … shall we say it … mature.

Hah. I say, “hah”.

On the clip show we suddenly get Old Coach with a bullet.

He does a marvelous impersonation of a thirteen year old boy at summer camp torturing some girl.

Mikayla had a queasy stomach, so Coach tortures her by roasting up and eating some rancid pig fat and then pretending he’s about to barf.

Did he have a reason to dislike Mikayla just then? Sure.

The woman committed Survivor Suicide by taking more than her share of a limited food item. That will do it every time.

She was, therefore, entitled to be yelled at, chastised and informed that she was going home by unanimous vote.

Heck that may be what really happened.

But Coach had to pull an adolescent stunt and actually torture her. It made him feel important.

So much happens that we never see. Scripted. I call it scripted.

It takes a lot of fun out of the game.

Oh well. But getting back to the game, at the moment we are back to two tribes.

What? Yep. We have Te Tuna, better known as Upolu plus one.

And we have the citizens of Redemption Island, better known as the final remnants of Savaii.

The first event of the day is going to be predictable. At least I’m predicting it.

It’s the Oz-man versus.....
