Survivor One World: Sabrina Thompson - Stimpy's Take, Interview, Bio And More
By Reality TV Calendar Senior Staff Writer Stimpy

Sabrina Thompson
Stimpy's Take:
Wow, it’s a first for Survivor. They’ve cast a blunt, opinionated black woman.

Y’know, I’ve never made a secret of the fact that I was never a fan of Cirie’s, mainly because I got this sense of ‘entitlement’ from her that rubbed me the wrong way.

That being said, I appreciated how she played the game. And, even with that sense of entitlement, she’s still light years ahead of some of the African American women who’ve been cast in recent seasons.

I mean Sabrina’s got an impressive list of accomplishments in her life, and has apparently achieved them without the use of steroids (see Crystal ? It can be done), but when even she acknowledges that her mouth can get her into trouble, it’s hard to get jazzed about her chances.

Plus, when a person describes themselves as blunt, it’s not a good sign. Actually, it’s a red flag.

Add to that Sabrina is out there for the challenge.

Sigh, sigh, heavy, heavy, SIGH.

I’d also like to address one of her pet peeves, namely that of guys who adjust themselves.

Lady, till you’ve walked around with a penis and testicles, don’t talk to me about making adjustments. It moves, it gets to where it shouldn’t and therefore it needs to be adjusted.

You may think that was just a rant, but do you see what I did there?

I was blunt, and opinionated. Now, consider I did something like that to Sabrina whilst stranded out in the South Pacific. Do you think Sabrina would have any qualms about voting my ass out?

Yeah, didn’t think so.

Again, people this is a social game, and blunt and opinionated people tend not to do so well at it.

I’m also having a little trouble in buying into Sabrina’s reasons for why she’ll do well: namely the ‘supreme persuader’ aspect of things.

That’s nice-speak for ‘I’m gonna tell people how to do things’. It may work in the real world, even with supreme assholes, but it doesn’t always fly on Survivor.

While I appreciate her saying she has the ability to adapt to all personalities, I need to see that in practice first.

Also, I’ve gotta admit a certain trepidation for anyone who likens themselves to Sandra because of how she spoke her mind. Yeah, it worked for Sandra (twice!), but that doesn’t mean you should emulate her. ‘Cause you wanna know how many other times it’s worked? How about none?

Plus, I tend to be wary of anyone who says they have a ‘superb balance of wit, athleticism, and social charisma’.

You may think that. Others, not so much.

And yes, I do appreciate how Sabrina says she knows how to stroke egos, and get people to do what she wants, but again it’s something I need to see in practice.

I’d like to believe she can do those things, but when you’ve said that after telling me that you’re blunt and opinionated, and how your mouth will get you into trouble, you can pardon me for not thinking that things are gonna go your way.

Now, she could be another who might benefit from being on a tribe of only women in the early going, but if not, I don’t see good things in her future.

Given how both tribes are gonna be living on the same beach, I can see Sabrina doing something that pisses off enough people that even if it is just women, they’ll choose to gun her for the greater good.

Not good vibes here folks.

Got thoughts? Post them at the end.

Occupation: High School Teacher
Personal Claim to Fame: Co-founder of a non-profit organization, WEEN, that has gained 43K members in just three years.

Hobbies: Traveling, photography and painting.
Pet Peeves: People who put leashes on kids! Really?!  Also, people who enter elevators or subways before others exit, people who spit and guys that constantly adjust their genitals.
3 Words to Describe You: Blunt, versatile and athletic.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Sandra Diaz-Twine, she’s a beast! She’s likable but it’s definitely about business. I appreciate her blunt style.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: The challenge. Many things come easily to me so I want to see if this will be the ultimate challenge.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: My skills as a supreme persuader because I used to book guests for talk shows. I adapt to all personalities since I teach high school in Brooklyn and my athleticism and excellent communication ability.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I have a superb balance of wit, athleticism and social charisma. I know how to stroke egos and get people to do what I want…then go for the kill when they least expect it.
