Stimpy's Take:
Didn’t have a problem with him first time out, and I suspect he’ll take the leadership role more willingly here, than he did in Samoa.
That being said, it’ll be interesting to see how his tribe views him. If they gang up on him, obviously he’s in trouble.
However, if they don’t, expect Russell to go far. Dunno if he’ll go all the way, but we shall see.
We know that Russell can work the social game, and isn’t a thud-fuck in challenges, so I don’t expect him to get gunned too early.
What I think will be important is the early going, and how he and Malcolm co-exist.
In all honesty, I think Russell will be more adept at uniting the tribe, and if Malcolm wants to get into a dick-measuring contest, he’d probably end up losing.
Like I said, Russell isn’t an idiot, and while he wasn’t quite an uber-strategist his first time out, he did well enough to not really have a target on him when he got evacuated.
And, like I said, I’m not too sure about Mr. Swan’s long-term potential for this game. Honestly, out of the three returnees, I’d rank him last in terms of chances, because Penner WANTS to win, and Skupin CAN win.
However, unless Russell’s tribe gangs up on him because he is a returning player, I’d expect to see him stick around for a bit.
But, can he win? Sure, he CAN. I don’t think he will. Not a knock of him mind you, I just don’t see the drive with Russell.
If you read what I said about Russell, pre-Samoa, you can see that I wanted to like the guy, but didn’t get a winner’s vibe.
Even with that past experience under his belt, I still don’t get that winner’s vibe.
