Welcome to Survivor. We’re in the Philippines.
This season we have some new and some returning old ideas. I’m thinking they are going to be good. At least I hope so.
We’re back to three tribes.
Yes, it’s been tried and the results last time were not so wonderful.
But, it’s a good idea in terms of shaking up the dynamic. There is less chance of a lopsided power team early on. That’s good.

I like the balance on age range this time. That’s better than the tendency lately to have lots of young eye-candy and one or two obligatory Old Farts.
The two “name” contestants shouldn’t be a distraction the way poor Jimmie Johnson was.
And although I hate the idea of former players returning, I’m ok this time. These three players can at least get closure.
And, praise the Lord they didn’t bring back James, Colton and the guy who had toxic constipation or whatever it was.

It’s a big crew with three tribes and I’m going to stumble badly for a few weeks trying to keep track.

As we meet the survivors, here are some vocabulary words to watch for:
Sassy:
A word used only for females and small yappy dogs. In this game I guess it’s supposed to mean cute with attitude.
Competitive:
A throw-away word used by all contestants to describe themselves. Example: Chef Joe on Big Brother. I rest my case.
110%:
This keeps being said in previews by Russell Swan. Russell, my man, when you give more than you’ve got that’s how you got evacuated last time.
And, do I personally remember these three returning players? Sort of.
