Amazing Race: We Are Sorry To Report The Frat Boys Survived
Episode 9 Recap by Cari C.

Last week we finally lost Terrence and Sarah and the race is a better place because of it. I have never liked the teams with one team member who treats the other bad. Why get on national television and treat another person so badly. I know the race is stressful but nothing ever justifies treating someone you are supposed to care about badly. The remaining teams all definitely deserve a place in the final three. Even as bad as the frat boys are they have worked hard and if their luck can hold out then they deserve a spot in the finals. I have a feeling that this week we are looking at a non elimination round. If things keep going the way they have been, I have a feeling the frat boys will come in last. Of course they will still be in the race for the million and with the luck these two have they might just win it all.
Last week Nick and Star won the Fast Forward. That put them in first so they will once again get to leave the Pit Stop first. This time the seemingly unstoppable duo get to depart at 9:21 pm with the next clue. Teams must now fly 2000 miles to Moscow, Russia. When they land they will travel by taxi to a local monastery. Once there they must light a candle to receive their next clue. Nick and Star take the clue and head off to the airport. Nick is wearing his new shirt that Star made him. Since it is his birthday, it reads "Its my birthday". How original of Star but I guess it was a sweet gesture. At the airport, they find out the next flight to Moscow doesn't depart until 6:05 am. They get their tickets and the wait begins. With the flight leaving at 6:05 am, the other teams will catch up and everyone will be on even ground again. The remaining teams leave the Pit Stop at the following times:
Toni and Dallas: 10:47 pm
Ken and Tina: 11:17 pm
Frat boys: 12:41 am
At the airport, Dallas and Star continue doing whatever it is the two are doing. It seems to bother Toni more than it does Nick but I don't think she would say anything. The other teams arrive at the airport, get their tickets, and wait around for the flight. Since Andrew and Dan left their shoes at the last Detour, they don't get to sit around and wait. They have to go buy new shoes. They find a store that is still open and get themselves some really nice shoes. I guess there better than the bedroom slippers they did have. I really cannot believe the two left their shoes behind. I have been watching this show since the beginning and I don't think there has ever been a more stupid move. Shoes are a pretty important item to have when you are racing around the world. If these two would just take a minute to read their clues more closely they would have a lot less trouble.
The next morning, the flight departs and the teams head to Moscow. Once in the city, all the teams race to find taxis. It appears there are no taxis in front of the airport so the frat boys race to the parking lot. For once, the boys made a smart move and they ended up getting out of the airport first. Since they had to buy shoes, the boys are hurting for money. It could really cause them to lose this leg of the race since Moscow is an expensive city. Soon all the teams find taxis and the race to the monastery is on. As always, some teams get better drivers than others. Toni and Dallas get a great driver and Nick and Star who get a bad driver just follow. The two teams arrive at the monastery first. They light candles and get the next clue. Teams must now travel by taxi to the outskirts of town and find Kolosok camp, a decommissioned military base. They will then search the base for their next clue. Both teams head off but this time Nick and Star lose Toni and Dallas. With a bad driver, the two are soon lost on the road. With Nick and Star lost if the boys and Tina and Ken can pick it up we could be looking at a whole new game. Both teams soon have their clues and everyone is on their way to the military base.
On the road with a great driver, Toni and Dallas make good time and arrive at the base first. They quickly locate the clue box and discover a Detour inside. In this Detour teams must choose between two activities that will entrench them in Russia's strong military traditions. For either, teams must properly don a military uniform including traditional foot wraps. They must then choose between Boots or Borscht. In Boots, they will join a training squad and learn a traditional march. When they think they are ready, they will fall in line with the troop and march one full lap of the parade grounds. If the drill sergeant is satisfied with their performance, they will receive the next clue. In Borscht, teams must find the mess tent and serve borscht to a company of seventy five solider's. Once each solider has received a bowl of borscht, they will receive the next clue. Toni and Dallas decide to march. They head inside the tent to change and then back out to learn how to properly wrap their feet.
Back on the road, Nick and Star.....
