The Amazing Race: Mika's Meltdown Gives Globetrotters Net
Legs Six Recap by RTVC Staff Writer Jenny Lane

"Not for a million dollars."
Previously on Amazing Race 15, the remaining eight teams raced from Cambodia to Dubai. Meghan and Cheyne successfully completed the fast forward, putting them in the front of the pack. The rest of the teams had to endure a hot roadblock and a freezing detour. In the end, it was Lance and Keri who found themselves in last place. They were eliminated, and now we’re down to seven teams.

This week, we rejoin the teams at the fifth pit stop in Dubai. Meghan and Cheyne get to depart first, at 8:17 a.m. They are told to choose a briefcase, and then travel by taxi to the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. There, they will search the marina’s boardwalk for their next clue.

Megan and Cheyne arrive at the yacht club, tell their cab driver to wait, and run to the clearly visible clue box. The roadblock clue tells them to row an inflatable boat to a yacht, find a sheik, and receive a watch from him. Then they must return to the dock and open their briefcase. The briefcases are locked, and the teams have to figure out that the time on the watch is the combination to the briefcase. Once they do this, they will open the briefcase to get their next clue.

Cheyne decides to do the roadblock, saying that he has boating experience and will be able to get to the yacht better than Meghan could.

At 9:59, Brian and Ericka leave the pit stop. Ericka talks about how she starts off the day with clean, fresh makeup, but it’s melted off by the end of the day. Brian is more worried about the fact that they have been in the back of the teams more often than in front.

Back at the roadblock, Cheyne is paddling pretty slowly, and is actually singing a little “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” as he goes.

At 10:42, the Globetrotters are taking off from the pit stop in third place. All three teams that we’ve seen so far have commented on how hot it is in Dubai, so I’m putting that on my list of places not to visit.

Cheyne has finally made it to the yacht and is climbing aboard. He is given the watch, and climbs back into the boat.

Gary and Matt are the fourth team to depart at 10:45. They’re still in good spirits, and are talking about how they’re still getting along well. Matt is sporting bright pink hair, and says he brought along some dye and gave himself the new do last night. No surprise, once in the taxi, Gary says “the heat is unbelievable.”

Wearing the new watch, Cheyne makes it back to the dock before any of the other teams arrive. He has realized that the watch hands are stopped at 8:35, so he plugs that into the briefcase combination. The briefcase pops open, they grab their next clue, and they’re on their way to the Abra Station. At this water taxi station, they will search for their next clue.

Brian and Ericka arrive at the roadblock. Brian says “this one does not do water,” so he’s elected to row the boat. He climbs in, cue the comical music, and sit back and watch Brian paddle in circles.

Sam and Dan are fifth to depart from the pit stop, at 11:34 a.m. They say that they’re still working closely with Maria and Tiffany, but that they’ll be able to outrun the girls if it comes down to the wire. They’re ‘sick of the Globetrotters doing well and want them out.’

Now getting the hang of the.....
