The Amazing Race 16: Cowboys Continue To Conquer - Ranking The Remaining 8

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all ready for another episode of the Amazing Race!
I know a lot of you were probably catching the closing ceremonies of the Olympics, but now that they’re over it’s definitely time to start watching the race once again!
Last leg Jet and Cord were able to sneak their way to the front of the pack landing a first place finish, while Jody and Shannon weren’t able to keep up with the other teams causing them to be eliminated from the race.
At the beginning of this leg we saw that Brent and Caite weren’t able to start at their correct starting time. It seemed that Caite had gotten food poising and both of them are feeling under the weather. They checked into a hospital and had to spend a few hours there. Eventually they are released, though, and start last.
This leg we found out that the teams are traveling to Argentina! Jet and Cord, Carol and Brandy, and Joe and Heidi get on the first bus, while the other teams get on the second bus. They’re traveling to a place in Argentina to play a card game against the Travelocity gnome. I don’t know about you, but I definitely want one of those gnomes, but anyway…
After that the teams had to complete a roadblock, which involved using a lasso to reel in a cow head with a clue. Carol and Brandy made a big deal that Jet and Cord had an unfair advantage, but they just ignored them thankfully. Jet did finish in two tries and they regained the lead. The other teams did relatively well, expect for Louie and Michael and Monique and Shawne. Eventually Monique and Shawne were the last ones still standing there.
For the detour the teams had to choose between following directions to find a bag or hitting a ball on a wooden horse. Jet and Cord had no problem finishing the wooden horse challenge, but Carol and Brandy didn’t make out so well when they chose to follow coordinates and completely blew up at each other. Eventually they had to switch to the other task. Jeff and Jordan had a little bit of trouble with the coordinates when they didn’t know where to go to get their next clue, but eventually found it out. Louie and Michael had trouble as well, so much so that they had to switch to the other task.
In the end though Jet and Cord continued their dominance and finished first once again. On the other hand Monique and Shawne were trailing after finishing the lasso roadblock so late and couldn’t make a comeback at the detour when they struggled with the wooden horse leading to a last place finish at the pitstop and the end of their journey on the race.
Next week Jet and Cord drink some beer with some locals, should be interesting, but for now here’s how the remaining eight teams rank:
