The Amazing Race: Decent Smart People Win, How Refreshing

Docs Win!
The sprint to the finish line on The Amazing Race will occur tonight.

All the hype is about whether or not the winner will be an all-female team.

You know, I really don’t care about the demographic of the winning team. I love it when the winners are good racers who are also decent people.

We have a 50/50 chance that the winner will be an all-female team.

Do not yell about my math skills.

I just think that this covers the difference in skill between Thomas and Jill and the two female teams.

My opinion.

Thomas and Jill have raced the best. Thomas yells too much when things aren’t going well, but he hasn’t been vicious about it. The behavior is annoying but not seriously abusive.

I hope they have taken notes of how they behave under pressure and do something about it if they are planning to continue their relationship. Just a thought.

Nat and Kat are everything a team should be as far as support and cooperation but lack a streak of aggression that is probably required in order to win. I’d like to know them personally. I think they would be fun to be around.

If I were lying on the operating table about to be opened up, I would be happy to have either one in charge of my life. They are good with dealing with adversity and situations requiring adjustments to plan. They do this thoughtfully and slowly, however, which isn’t good when things are being timed.

Last week the partnership appeared to be developing cracks. It is to be hoped that they can hold it together until the end.

Tonight they are headed home. They are all fairly evenly matched. It’s going to be a knuckle biter.

Next stop Los Angeles. All three teams are within about half an hour of each other and they have to bunch at the airport. It’s a flat start. No drama getting tickets.

Six thousand miles later they have to get to the Port of Long Beach and find the clue box at Pier J.

Warning … Nat is.....
