Pink goes poof.
The Amazing Race - Unfinished Business version – is continuing in the Swiss Alps without the Cowboys.
As much as I ranted and raved and stomped my feet last week at the elimination of “my” team, I have to agree with Jet. He lost the race and I, for one, should have seen it coming.
Jet can’t or doesn’t always pay attention. Not enough focus? Too much focus? I don’t know.

Do you remember fourth grade and the “story problems”? Those silly math stories that you swore you would never have to use in real life? Here’s one.
A man rides a moped across Liechtenstein. When the odometer reads 17 km he realizes he made a wrong turn. He reverses and rides 6.5 km back to a village where he takes a different road. When he arrives at his destination the odometer reads 35 km. What is the distance in kilometers from the start to the destination? Show your work.
We all passed that quiz. The loop of going the wrong way is 6.5 x 2 which is 13 and 35 minus 13 is 22. We all get it. Jet didn’t. And that’s where he lost the entire Amazing Race.

Failing to turn over a sheet of paper to find that there are additional instructions on the back is one thing. Failing to translate all the flags in front of you, multiple times, is just weird.
Cord is the brother who has had the head injury. I really wasn’t prepared for Jet’s muddled thinking. I just hope that Jet’s wife or someone else does the books for the ranch business and doesn’t leave it to Jet.
So with that out of the way, we can agree that the loss was essentially Jet’s to own and it happened on the moped trip.
My rant last week was, and frankly continues to be, the tendency of these racers to get the answers without doing the work. Where is the pride in that? I couldn’t be happy with it, but I’m not racing.
In my own head I re-ran that part of the race pretending that the Trotters and Gary had not been given the moped answer and, guess what? Unless Gary and Mallory got U-Turned, the results would not have changed.
If Gary and Mallory had......
