Good Morning Amazing Race Fans. I bet you thought you were done with me, but it’s time for some Monday Morning Quarterbacking.
The discussion around the watercooler today is where did various teams actually lose the race and if a favorite duo had made it to the last leg could it have won.
Grab a donut and a cup of coffee, here we go.
Of our final three, where did the non-winners fall out of contention?

The Globetrotters never did fall out of contention. The big men lost the race in the heavy cross-winds on the Old Seven Mile Bridge. One of them even said that the bridge was actually seven miles long and they lost it at mile two. That’s the where.
The Sisters wanted it more. That’s the why. When the wind was whipping their bicycles around, they got off and walked the bike. They weren’t as strong and powerful as the men, but they really wanted to win.
The Globetrotters always have a good speech at the ready about winning and the fourth quarter and overtime and all that stuff. It never translates into results.
Last time they played they quit a task as being too-hard-to-do and sent themselves home. They used many opportunities this time to take shortcuts and try to get results without doing the work.
On Old Seven Mile Bridge there are no shortcuts. You have to travel every inch on your own steam. The Sisters did. The Trotters didn’t. Period.
What about Gary and Mallory? They were leading and going strong in Brazil.
Once in Florida, they started losing the race in the airport when they couldn’t find a cab.
Mallory immediately went into ADHD mode and Gary followed her down that rabbit hole. They never were able to communicate well with cab drivers and, thus, never caught up.
It’s not always the cab driver’s fault. It’s how the racer communicates with him. There is really nothing more to dissect there. Gary and Mallory got off the airplane as Team Chaos and the taxi driver they got at random did not speak Chaos.
Zev and Justin clearly lost the race at the samba challenge.
There used to be a rule about dividing up the Roadblocks between the two team members.
