It’s going to be a real bunch up. Cindy and Ernie are off the mat at 5:44.

They are discussing what a threat Andy and Tommy are. Andy and Tommy have discussed that they are on everyone’s radar.

Laurence has commented that the Double U-Turn is something that must be used if it will help get further in the Race.

The editors are setting us up to watch the crucifixion of Andy and Tommy. They often lie, of course, but that’s what they are doing. Making us nervous.

Ernie also reminds us about the Express Pass that they may have to use to get ahead of Andy and Tommy.

At 5:47 a shivering pair of Grands leave the mat saying “let’s see what today brings”.

Finally at 6:07 Amani and Marcus open their clue. It says what they all have said but they are the ones to tell us that the teams have been given One Dollar for this leg of the Race.

Their cab is making ominous squealing noises and Marcus tells us that they have to take care of the details and let the big things take care of themselves.

This is after they remind us that they have a speed bump.

Let’s recap the things that will occur on this leg. A Double U-Turn, a speed bump for Team NFL and the possible use of an Express Pass by Ernie and Cindy.

And will some team go home? You can’t count on that anymore.

In Lilongwe the teams are boarding the bus. Justin says it best. It’s the “seven o’clock-ish” bus to Salima.

Cindy is being a princess again. She fussed at the accommodations in the hut last night and now she’s wrinkling her little nose that the bus smells bad. “Oh well,” she says. “This is Africa.”

Two ethno-centric demerits for Cindy.

Marcus and Amani fret that they won’t make the bus but, in the end, they are on it. They even have seats. So much for the comments about crammed like sardines.

The bus departs at 7:21 if you are keeping track of the time.

Marcus gave a very nice little commentary on being able to see Africa and how the people live and to contemplate how fortunate we are in the U.S.

The bus pulls in to Salima. There is a person with clues mixed with vegetables in a basket on her head. There is a speed-bump sign. There are a ton of people.
