Top Chef Washington DC: Too Many Tips Spoil the Show
Spoiler Report and Commentary by Donna Emery

Will he win it all?
Don’t read this unless you want to know who the final four will be, for this season of Top Chef.

By watching clips of future shows, and by gathering information from other reliable sources, I have discovered that the final four chefs for this season of Top Chef are:

Angelo, Kevin, Kelly and Ed.

Having Angelo in the top group should be no surprise to anyone. His ambition, manipulative personality and (admittedly) excellent cooking skills have helped him stand out as frontrunner from the beginning.

Although her personality seems a bit grating and less acquisitive than Angelo’s her two elimination wins and her recent immunity have made her someone to watch, and it’s no surprise she has survived to be on top.

Kevin’s efforts have been more inconsistent. Although he won this past week, he has been near the bottom for both Quickfires and eliminations. His personality is pleasant, so I’m glad he has survived.

Ed’s ascent is the biggest surprise. Although he has had some memorable moments, he did not stand out among this group as one to watch. It will be very interesting to see how the others get eliminated; while Ed remains in the game.

I have also discovered that numbers five through seven will be Tiffany, Alex and Amanda. Although it looks pretty certain that Alex and Amanda will go just before Tiffany, it’s not clear which of them will be eliminated first.

That means that the next group to be eliminated, (although I can’t predict which order they will fall in) Andrea, Kenny, and Stephen. Stephen is no surprise (he’s just skating by, as far as I’m concerned) and Andrea’s nerves have been making her vulnerable for some time. But Kenny’s eventual elimination (despite this week’s bottom two appearance) is a surprise, since his rivalry with Angelo – and his self-proclaimed status as “beast in the kitchen” have made him someone to watch. However, despite the bad news that he will (soon?) be eliminated, I’ve heard he has obtained a very prestigious job and is certainly better off from his exposure on the show.

Although I love this show, and am always amazed to see what the cheftestants conjure up; from the ingredients they are given, this crop of cheftestants just seem to lack the charisma of some of the past seasons. There’s no one in this remaining bunch that I’m really rooting for. I loved Arnold, but he’s gone. Certainly: I prefer that Angelo be eliminated as number four, and can hope for that outcome.

Of the final four? I’d be happy if Ed or Kevin win, although I really have nothing against Kelly.

How about you? What do you think of the final four? Who are you rooting for? Let me know at mrsed4ever@yahoo.com.
