Hard to see the potential before the "stylists" get their hands on them? As we watch Tyra and Co. put these aspiring models through their 13 week model "boot-camp" - a crash-course in the reality of the high stakes world of the supermodel - I will rank their odds of coming out on top based on my own opinion and past experience with the panel of judges.
Returning this season will be Janice Dickinson, for whom the title "supermodel" was first coined; Nigel Baker, high-fashion photographer who can see the potential that lurks beyond what we mere mortals observe; Nole Marin, long-time celebrity fashion stylist with a penchant for sharp retort and toy poodles and finally Jay Manuel, Glam Master, who acts as art director for most of the fashion shoots as well as stylist for hair and make-up. Jay is the man in the trenches, accompanying the girls on most of their assignments, holding their hands through their melt-downs and forcing them to bring on their A-game through flattery or badgering -whichever method works best at any given moment.
They are led by Tyra Banks who, as always , will be on hand to advise, criticize and inspire the girls as they battle it out for the chance for only one of them to call themselves America's Next Top Model.
We'll be keeping track of it all on our Reality TV Calendar Photo Scoreboard.
Don't Miss -
"What The Divas Are Doing Now" A look at the lives of the 14 competitors from Cycle 3 of America's Next Top Model airs Tuesday, March 1 (9:00-10:00 PM) on UPN. Look for Reality TV Calendar's coverage by Eleanor Meilinger.
Eleanor is about to take the leap from "writing to keep out of trouble" to "Writer with Resume". With a little luck you will be seeing her name in some of those credits by the end of 2005. She'll still take time to comment on everything RTV - it's cheaper than therapy!
