Roll Call is reporting that sisters and members of the House Of Representatives, Congresswomen Loretta and Linda Sanchez may be Trading Spaces this fall. Obsessive/Compulsive Trading Spaces designer Vern Yip has been called up to the big leagues. He's leaving The Learning Channel and heading for NBC where he will host Design Intervention. The major networks have discovered there's rating in those renovations and they are all following ABC's hit Extreme Makeover: Home Edition example. Vern tells the Baton Rouge Advocate that the new show will be much more comprehensive than what he has been used to, "We're going to transform an entire house, inside and out in two weeks," including the yard. He is expected to take his leather jacket with him.

Trading Spaces designer Doug Wison will continue to sport his leather pants on TLC. He told Zap2it.com, "I'm signed on to 'Trading Spaces' for three more years. I'm making TLC my home, so people know where to tune in and find me." He says he has committed to several specials: One is a series of "four, two-hour quarterly segments for TLC, called 'America's Ugliest Rooms' -- big-budget, lots of fun." He says we can look forward to a musical episode, a farm episode, a Medieval version and an audience participation episode where viewers will choose a new designer. That all sounds great, but if CBS called, he'd be gone tomorrow. |
